Ferdinand "Sarge" Dietz, 78, of Westminster, an automotive fleet sales manager, died Oct. 28 in Villas at Sunny Acres. Services were Nov. 1 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Interment was in Fort Logan National Cemetery.

He was born April 28, 1923, in Russell, Kan. On Nov. 3, 1948, he married Leota Winder in Greeley. His hobbies included fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Dianne Lindenbaum, Denver; three sons, Ronald, Lakewood, Ricky, Arvada, and Michael, Westminster; a brother, Herman, Fort Morgan; two sisters, Helen Lebsock, Fort Morgan, and Marty Wilson, Greeley; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Contributions may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, West 45th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
