OBITUARY: Elsie M. Waldon
Mrs. Elsia M. Waldon, 83, of Wagoner died Sunday in Muskogee General Hospital. Services were held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church with Reverend J.C. Highfill and Rev. Wayne Naugher officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery under direction of Hersman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ted Bartell, Hank Mannon, Houston Parsons, Donald Blair, John Sleeper and Mercer Lamb.
Mrs Waldon was born March 27, 1895 at Asher, Indian Territory, She moved to Hulbert and then Wagoner where she made her home the past 60 years. She was a housewife, a charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Gold Star Mother of Wagoner during World War Two. She was a life-time member of American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons. Colonel J.C. Sandlin of Arlington, Virginia, Gerald Sandlin of Del City and Richard Sandlin of Overland Park, Kansas; two daughters, Mrs. Retha Blake of Wagoner and Mrs. Louise Carroll of Houston, Texas, a step-son Roy Waldon of Hominy;, three step-daughters, Mrs. Ethel Scott of Muskogee, Mrs. Linda Clow of Wagoner, and Mrs Nellie Wilson of Phoenix, Arizona. a brother, Bud Trout of Seminole, a sister Mrs. Ollie Gaines of Wewoka, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five children.
Died July 30, 1978
