Robert M. Sironen, 81 of Chattanooga, TN, died Tuesday April 14, 2009 at his residence.

A native of Maynard, MA, he has been a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 43 years. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a Veteran of WW II and was also a member of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum.

He was the son of the late Toivo and Tyyne Sironen and was preceded in death by a son, David Sironen.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Charlton and Christina Sironen, Martinez, GA; granddaughter, Jennifer Oman; great-granddaughter, Kalia Oman; brother and sister-in-law, David and Joyce Sironen, Acton, MA.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Wayland Stewart officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Warner-Robins Air Force Base.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S. Moore Road, East Ridge, TN.
