William H. Carroll,95, of Macon died at 5 am today at Mary Anns Convalescent home, 640 W.Main st. a resident of Macon most of his life. Mr.Carroll was an insurance broker with his wife,Cecilia for 15 years in Macon. He was a member of St.Stanislaus Catholic church in Macon and the Altar and Rosary Society at the church.
Mr.Carroll was born April 15,1867 in Macon county a son of John and Elizabeth Tomlinson Carroll. He was preceded in death by a son and three wives,Blanche Willoughby Carroll,Bess Ater Carroll and Cecilia Despres Carroll
Survivors include four sisters,Mrs.Elizabeth Duggan,Mrs.Rachel Ward and Mrs.Florence Wells,all of Decatur and Mrs.Agnes Metcalf of Mt. Vernon.
Funeral services willbe at 9 am Thursday in St.Stanislaus Catholic church in Macon. Burial will be in Macon cemetery. Friends may call at the Ater funeral home in Macon after 5 pm Wednesday. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 3 pm Wednesday.
