A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006, in Bethany Presbyterian Church for M. Louise Granat, who died July 25 at age 84.
Louise Slaats was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Bozeman, Mont. She moved to Portland as a child and graduated from Jefferson High School. She was a homemaker as well as a member of the church for more than 50 years. In 1949, she married Henry "Hank."
Survivors include her husband; sons, Karl and Kurt; daughters, Virginia Mapes, Alana Mapes and Jody Jones; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
