Nellie Roberts, youngest daughter of Josephus and Adaline Roberts, was born near Kent, Iowa, on December 22nd, 1873. She passed away at her home in Creston, Iowa, on May 22nd, 1948 at the age of 74 years and five months. She had been in failing health for over a year.

She was united in marriage to Walter Butler, Oct. 3rd, 1894. To this union three children were born: Bernice, Helen and Edwin. Bernice Bush preceded her in death February 16, 1925. Five sisters: Adeline, Elizabeth, Amanda, Jennie and Flora, and four brothers, Britton, William, Joseph and Charlie, preceded her in death.

She united with Grove Chapel Church at an early age, later transferring her membership to Prairie Star, Lenox and Creston where she held her membership.

Survivors are her husband, Walter F. of Creston, a daughter, Mrs. Claude Morris and husband Claude, a son, Edwin Butler and wife Hazel, of near Lenox, Five grandchildren, Kenneth Morris, Marjorie Reynolds, Hal Dean Morris, Robert Morris and Jack Butler, all of Lenox. Four great grandchildren, Louis Mark Morris, Constance Sue and Katherine Lou Reynolds and Susan Marie Morris and a host of other relatives and friends.
