Longtime Exeter resident Loretta McManus Miller, widow of Dr. James E. Miller, passed away quietly surrounded by her family. She was 85.
For more than five decades she and her large family were active in local sports, schools and charitable organizations.
Her family was her greatest joy and she loved any chance to gather with them.
She was preceded in death by her son, James E. Miller, III; husband, James E. Miller, Jr.; sister, Sister Miriam Thomas "Rosemary"; and brother, Thomas William McManus. Loretta is survived by nine children, thirty grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren (plus three more on the way) and their families: Thom and Kelly Miller of Fresno; Mrs. James E. Miller, III, Linda; Larry and Susan Miller of Los Altos; Joyce and Chuck Aston of Fresno; Dwight and Barbara Miller of Lemoore; Terry Miller of Exeter; Rosemary and Mark Hellwig of Exeter; Matt and Laurie Miller of Fullerton; Gordon Miller of Sacramento; and Joseph Miller of Glendale.
A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Tabernacle of Exeter, 515 S. Filbert in Exeter on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at 3:00 p.m.
A Private Catholic Graveside Service will be at Exeter Cemetery.
