Floyd L. Barnes, 87, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 in Shelbyville. He was a native of Anderson County and was a farmer. He attended the Grace Assembly of God.


He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marjorie Waldridge Barnes of Shelbyville; his sons, Ray Barnes of Little Mount, Carl Louis Barnes of Mt. Eden, Edgar Thomas Barnes of Shelbyville, and Roger Mattingly of Shelbyville; his daughters, Joyce Mae Smith of Franklin, IN, Pearl McCann of Shelbyville, Linda Rhoda of Franklin, IN, Bertha Sauer of Simpsonville, and Pamela Forrest of Shelbyville; his brother, Paul Barnes of Chaplin; his sisters, Helen Lefler of Shelbyville, Dorothy Burgin of Shelbyville, and Tillie Maxwell of Bowling Green; and 21 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Shannon Funeral Home with Bro. J. Darrell Biram and Deana Peoples officiating. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.


Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer�s Association.
