Henrietta Bauer Rites Held
Sutton - Henrietta F. Bauer, daughter of Henry J. and Wilhelmina Griess, was born October 28, 1901, on a farm in York County, Nebraska. She was taken by her Heavenly Father to her eternal home on September 10, 1975, in a Lincoln hospital after a short illness. She had reached the age of 73 years, 10 months and 13 days.

Henrietta was baptized and confirmed in the Reformed Faith and was a faithful member of the Hope Reformed church at the time of her death. In 1921 she was united in marriage to Adam D. Bauer and to this union were born three daughters and one son; Lucille, Shirley, Eleanor and Harold. The Bauers lived a short time in Colorado and then moved back the [sic] Nebraska where they farmed near Sutton. They moved into town in 1946.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents, by her brothers Ivan and Erik, by her son Harold, by her husband Adam, by a grandson Ricky Woodard, and by her sister, Gela. She is survived by her daughters, Lucille Carlson and Shirley White of Sutton and Eleanor Heignbigner of Lincoln; by five sisters, Adolphine Rath of Sutton, Rosa Bauer of Lincoln, Bertha Bauer of Wichita, Lillie Ochsner of Sutton and Claudia Weickum of Cheyenne, Wyoming; by two brothers, Oscar of Sutton and Hugo of Lincoln; by her step sisters, Edna Hornbacher and Leontina Maser of Sutton; by her half-sister, Irene Baumannn of Denver; and her half-brothers, Ewald of Lushton, Victor of Sutton and Edgar of Atkinson, Nebraska. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Henrietta will be greatly missed by her many relatives and friends, but their comfort is also great, knowing that for the Christian believer, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Funeral services were held September 13 at the Hope Reformed Church in Sutton, Pastor Norman Jones officiating. Mrs. Victor Griess and Kenneth Kauk sang, "Der Herr Bricht Ein Um Mitternacht" and "My Jesus as Thou Wilt" accompanied by Mrs. Gary Hansen. Casket bearers were Bob Rath, Rolland Hornbacher, Gene Griess, Don Bauer, Norman Griess and Darwyn Ochsner.

Interment is in the Sutton Cemetery. Arrangements by Kohler Mortuary.
