Emma Laura Day Phelps, 91, of Newton, formerly of Fillmore, died Tuesday, July 26, 1994 at the home of her son in Newton.
She was born November 27, 1902 in Meadow, Millard County, Utah, a daughter of Elmer L. and Annie Laurie Brunson Day. She married Ward Robert Phelps, April 22, 1921 in Fillmore. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, March 12, 1959. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include five sons, Ward Phelps Jr.; Tom Phelps; Dell Phelps; Gordon L. Phelps; Ned W. Phelps; three daughters, Anna Laura Shaw; Dean Watters; Deloris Watson. She is also survived by 41 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren, 42 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Day and Donald Day; two sisters, Elaine Rogerson and Fay Edelen. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, James M. Phelps and one daughter, Lelia Clare Adams.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 1994 at 9 a.m. in the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Fillmore City Cemetery.
