Kilbourne, IL – Julia A. Griffin, 76, of Kilbourne passed away at 8:59 pm Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born June 6, 1937 in Kilbourne, the daughter of John C. and Dora Dosia (Towery) Pratt. She married Robert L. Griffin Dec. 3, 1960 in Kilbourne and he died Jan. 2, 1999.

Mrs. Griffin worked for Franklin Life Insurance Company in Springfield as an assistant supervisor in agency accounting for 38 years retiring in 1995.

She is survived by 2 sons, Robert Clinton (Christina) Griffin of Petersburg, IL and John L. "Lee" (Ann) Griffin of Springfield; 5 grandchildren, Chelsea, Mackenzie, Abigail, Benjamin and Holly. In addition she is survived by 3 brothers, Ronald Paul ( Pam) Pratt of Havana; Daniel Lee (Linda) Pratt of Bath; Stanley Musial (Vickie) Pratt of Havana and 3 sisters; Ethel Virginia (Harry) Perez of Moline, IL; Edith Lorene Nolting of Springfield, IL and Myrtis Lucille (Troy) McClure of Port Byron, IL. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Hurley Funeral Home in Havana conducted by Pastor Jeffrey Gross. Burial will follow in the Oakford Cemetery at Oakford, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimers Association or the Charity of the donor's choice.
