Mr. Robert Edward Lassiter, age 82, of Murray, Kentucky died at 3:50am Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Lassiter was born Oct. 19,1926 in Calloway Co. to the late Arthur & May (Scarbrough) Lassiter.
He married Junella Brandon Lassiter on Feb. 2,1946 and she preceded in death on Dec. 13,1995. One son Robert Shayne Lassiter, two sisters, Opal Smotherman and Dortha McClain, and six brothers, Herman, James (Jiggs), Marvin, Parvin, Dallas, & Adolphus Lassiter also preceded him.
He is survived by two daughters, Melanie Todd & Keisha Lassiter; two grandchildren, Corinna Stalls & Dalton Lassiter; two great grandchildren, Drew & Emma; one daughter in law, Theresa Lassiter; one sister in law, Marie Lassiter; one brother in law, Perry Brandon (Monese); and special friends, The Martha Underwood Family.
Mr. Lassiter was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, a retired Farmer, and a WW II Army Veteran.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at the York Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Saywell officiating. The burial will follow in the South Pleasant Grove Cemetery and friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday.
