Arthur served as a Painter First Class, U.S.Navy during World War II.

He more than likely was a crew member of either the U.S.S. Canopus or the U.S.S. Pigeon.

He resided in California prior to the war.

Arthur became a Prisoner Of War of the Japanese Army and was held at the Hoten Pow Camp, Mukden, Manchuria.

Alex was one of 19 POW's "Killed In Action" when two bombs from an American B-29 stuck the camp.

He received the Prisoner Of War Medal and the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in Schofield Barracks Cemetery and was later repatriated here on January 13, 1949.
