Mary Jean Anderson Williams (Jeanie) was born on June 9, 1918, the third of four children of William L. and Lucile McCoulsky Anderson. She died peacefully at her home on April 15,2009. Mary Jean grew up on her parent's farm in Blackland, Rockwall County, Texas, and attended schools in Royse City and Rockwall. She was graduated from Rockwall High School in 1936, and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State College for Women, now Texas Women's University in 1940. Mary Jean taught home economics at Royse City High School and later at Rockwall High School. She loved her chosen field, and enjoyed a lifetime interest in food and nutrition, as well as clothing and fabric design. Jeanie kept in touch with her former students and often enjoyed luncheons with "her girls". Mary Jean and Horace Lee Williams were married on March 8, 1947, and together they owned and operated Williams' Lumber Company and Williams Concrete Company in Rockwall until their retirement in 1980. Mary Jean was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Rockwall and served the church for many years as a Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her son, Horace Lee Williams Jr; brother-in-law, Dr. Bob Williams and wife Beverly of Moline, Kansas; sister-in-law Mary Lou Anderson of Dallas; nieces, Dr. Andra Anderson of Dallas, Mary Sue Smith and husband Bob of Rockwall, Julie Wilhite and husband Curtis of Oklahoma City, Marilyn Anderson of Fort Worth, and Gloria Anderson of Fort Worth; nephews, Dr. William Clifton Anderson and wife Trish of Fort Worth, Dr. William Chilton Anderson and wife Cindy of Dallas, and Jim Williams of Moline, Kansas; great nieces, Rachael Anderson of Fort Worth and Jennifer Johnson and husband B.R. of Rockwall; great nephews, Randall Reinhardt and wife Colette of Mansfield, and Reed Williams of Moline, Kansas. Mary Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Dr. Dan Anderson and Dr. William L Anderson, sister, Virginia Anderson Reinhardt, and nephews, Danny Anderson and Mike Reinhardt. She was blessed with the love and loving care of special caregivers, Miatta Stewart, Angela Lewis, Maria Vasquez and Doris Moore, as well as others, who cared for her and inspired her and enriched every day of her life. Services will be held on Saturday, April 18,2009, at 11:00a.m., in the M.L. Jones Chapel of the First Baptist Church of Rockwall, with Pastor Steve Swofford and Dr. Dowell Loftis offciating. Interment will follow in Rockwall Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bill Lofland,Don Gage,Paul Davis,Dr. David Loftis, Thomas Bennett, Elroy Foerster and Dr. Bob Sparks. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. David Bond, Dr. Joe Loftis, Congressman Ralph M. Hall, Raymond Cameron, Wayne Rogers, Ted Cain and Ellison Slaughter.
