Funeral services for James "Odis" Hardcastle, 77, of Westville were held Oct. 12 at Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Boyce Moon officiating.
He was born Feb. 7, 1917, in Fayetteville, AR to Joe D. and Nellie (Morris) Hardcastle. He died Sunday, Oct. 9, at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital.
He was a veteran of World War II and retired from the Tulsa Fire Department. He had been Chief of Police for Westville Police Department, Deputy Sheriff for Stilwell Police Dept. and had served at city judge of Westville. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge #549 and the First Baptist Church of Westville.
After the death of his wife Pauline in 1985, he married Sue Galbraith on April 30, 1987 in Miami, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, Melvina Morris, wife Pauline and two sisters, Jean Rose and Ada Ruth Hardcastle.
Odis is survived by his wife Sue, of the home in Westville; two daughters, Karen Fisher of Tulsa and Colleen Quisenberry of Lawton; one son, Jim Hardcastle of Nevada; two stepdaughters, Mary Summral of Heidelberg, Mississippi and Carol Butler of Fayetteville, AR; two stepsons, Russ Jones of Tulsa and Billy Butler of Westville, OK; two sisters, Lucille Robinson of Siloam Springs, AR and Bonnie Kennedy of Bakersfield, CA; one brother Joe Hardcastle Jr. of California; 19 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were members of the Masonic Lodge #549. Honorary bearers were Lonnie Butler, Pheobe Butler, Gerald Ford, Larry Harlin, Glenn Smith and Eddie Rose.
