Susan Stringham Shaffer, 89, Manti, died July 29 in a Richfield rest home.
She was born February 18, 1885, in Vernal, to Philip and Caroline Crouch Stringham. She married Marion K. Shaffer May 18, 1911, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 3, 1937.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marie) Olsen, Manti; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Bryant, Vernal; Ray and Mrs. H. L. (Beatrice) Ried, both of Salt Lake City.
The funeral will be held Thursday (today) at the Manti Center. North LDS Ward Chapel. Burial at the Manti City Cemetery.
Mrs. Shaffer was active in church and civic affairs while in the Vernal area. She taught school in Maeser Elementay and home economics in the LDS Academy.
Mr. and Mrs. Bryant S. Stringham, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Collett, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Collett, Mr. and Mrs. Ferron Hacking and Pearl Shaffer attended the funeral from Vernal.
