Son of Amos Kyle and Charity Walker. He was the 7th born of their 9 children.

He married Emeline Wormell on 24 Dec 1861 in Lowell, Massachusetts. Their marriage record calls him a miner of Bear Valley, California. After their marriage, they lived for several years in Nova Scotia, Canada, where their son Lincoln was born. They had 2 children:

At the 1870 census, he and his family lived in Malden, Massachusetts where he is called a real estate broker. Sometime after 1870 Timothy moved to Leadville, Colorado, at first alone, where he resumed work as a miner. His wife joined him there after 1880. After his wife's death in 1905, he returned to Massachusetts where he was counted in Woburn at the 1910 census, described as a mine manager. Soon after, he moved to Oakland, California.

He married 2) Nancy Adelaide Knowles, widow of Silas R. Osgood, on 1 Sep 1914 at Oakland, Alameda County, California.

He died a few months later in Oakland and was cremated at the California Electric Crematorium in Oakland. His ashes were sent to Malden, Massachusetts.
