William Sorrow Bennett was born Sep 28, 1841 in DeKalb Co., TN, the 4th child of 11 children born to Harrison Bennett and Sarah Hines Bennett. Harrison and Sarah had 7 sons and 4 daughters. William married Susan Hufsteadler Feb 21, 1867 in Birdell, Randolph Co., AR. Together they had 6 children - 2 sons and 4 daughters. William was a farmer his entire adult life. He died Apr 3, 1891 in Randolph Co., AR where he is buried at the Shiloh Cemetery.

In 1850 William was in South Division, Smith Co., TN with his parents and 8 of his siblings. In 1860 he is in Kelly, Ripley Co., MO with his parents and 8 of his siblings. In 1870 William is in Roanoke, Randolph Co., AR with his wife Susan and 3 of their children. In 1880 he is Randolph Co., AR with his wife and 5 of their children, his step-daughter Mary Ellen Dixon and a farm hand. William was a farmer and part time Minister during his life, having performed several marriage ceremonies.

William is my 3rd Great Uncle.
