Alfred s/o James Parks and Mary Hudson Glenn married Elvira Parthenia Drummond on 10 Nov 1846 in Spartinburg Co.SC. He was a member of Bethel Church for 59 years and he & his wife were married for 56 years. He entered the Confederate Service in the CSA in 1862 and was in Gen McGown's Brigade Command "1" 1st C S Regiment.In the fall of 1863 they went to VA and were in camps near Orange Court House until 1864. He was in the Battle of the Wilderness and was wounded May 4 1864.Comminicating being cut off,his wife was not adivsed until some weeks after. When on receipt of sundry letters she hastened to his side to nurse and care for him. After some 5 week nursing she succeeded n bringing him home. They resided in Clifton, Spartanburg S.C. They married on 10 Nov 1846 in Spartanburg District, S.C and were parents of seven children. He is in the 1860 & 1880 Census. SC
