Mary Catherine Garnett, 96, of Slater, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at Heritage Hall in Centralia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church near Marshall. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery, near Slater. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Slater, Smith Chapel United Methodist Church or Rehoboth Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.campbell-lewis.com

Born Jan. 24, 1922, in Naptson, she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. Davis and Ollie May Adams Davis. On Feb. 28, 1935, she married William I. Garnett, who preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1991. She had lived in the Slater area most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Slater and a former member of the Slater Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening and flower gardens.

Survivors include one daughter, Julia Ann" Judy" Garnett Martin of Thompson; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanor Irene Garnett Schmidt; a granddaughter; four brothers, two sisters; and one brother in infancy.
