Former Dallas County Sheriff Meets Death at Marshall

Special to The News
Marshall, Texas 24 Feb 1921 - W. K. Reynolds, former Sheriff of Dallas County, was run over and killed by an incoming Texas & Pacific passenger train here at 11:50 o’clock this morning. Mr. Reynolds had recently moved to Marshall to make his headquarters here as special agent for the Texas & Pacific Railroad Company.

After the accident the engineer in charge of the train said that he saw Mr. Reynolds walking along the side of the railroad track as the train was approaching. He said he blew the engine whistle and Mr. Reynolds stepped upon the track immediately in front of the engine. His body was badly mangled when taken from the train.

W. K. Reynolds was Sheriff of Dallas County from 1914 to 1918. Before he was elected Sheriff he served six years as Constable of Precinct 1. After his term of Sheriff he engaged for a time in the oil business and later was appointed chief special agent for the Texas & pacific Railroad. He is survived by one son. The body of Mr. Reynolds will be received in Dallas Friday morning. The arrangement for the funeral will be announced later.
