Brandon Gean Shelton, 16, of Whitney, left this earth to be with our Lord, April 14, 2009, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at Whitney High School with Michael Whitfield, Youth Pastor of Prairie Valley Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Vaughan Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney.

Brandon was born in Hillsboro, Texas, to Bobby and Jean (Cox) Shelton. He grew up in Whitney, and attended Whitney High School. He enjoyed skateboarding, playing video games and tennis. He also enjoyed participating in school competitions, German Club, folk dancing, headlining with the school paper, UIL, power lifting and spending time with his family and friends. Brandon was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bobby Gean Shelton Sr.; maternal grandfather, Noe T. Beltran; and maternal grandmother, Cinderella Beltran.

Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Jean Shelton, of Whitney; grandmother, Pamela Shelton, of Whitney; brothers, Daymeine Sanford and wife, Janie, of El Paso, and Morgan Sanford, of Whitney; sisters, Summer Morris and husband, Jason, of Grand Prairie, and Cinnaman Sanford, of Whitney; nephews, Aidan Holder and Jonas Morris; niece, Jaysa Morris; and numerous uncles, aunts cousins and friends.
