Oil City Derrick, Sept. 1, 1960 - C.D. Barger, 85, Sligo Man, Succumbs - SLIGO - Charles Daniel Barger, 85, a retired mine foreman, died unexpectedly at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home here, just 11 days after the death of his wife, the former Priscilla Jane Kaylor. They observed their 64th wedding anniversary May 7.

Mr. Barger was born Oct. 2, 1874, in Monterey, a son of Benjamin F. and Elizabeth Bridges Barger.

Mr. Barger was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge. He and Mrs. Barger were married May 7, 1896.

Surviving are two sons, Claude D. Barger of New Kensington and Harry S. Barger of Petrolia; four daughters, Mrs. Byron (Alice) Stewart of Petrolia, Mrs. Jack (Anne) Harris of Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Henry (Myrtle) Addington of Livermore, Calif., and Mrs. James (Dorothy) Hoover of Sligo.

Also surviving are a brother, Oscar B. Barger of West Sunbury, four sisters, Mrs. Lewis Johnston of Preston, Ida., Mrs. Mae Gordon of Slippery Rock, Mrs. Clyde Forringer of Port Huron, Mich., and Mrs. Roy Crawford of Chicora RD.

Friends are being received at the Hawk Funeral Home in Sligo from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Mervin Schwab, Methodist pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Sligo Cemetery.
