She was born in 1851, Leigh on sea, Essex.
The youngest of seven children of
Charles Kirby (1814-1896) and
Mary Osborne Tanner (1810-1900)
Her siblings were;
Richard Daniel (1838),
Charles Edwrd (1840),
Stephen (1842-1898),
Mary Ann (1844),
Abraham Thomas (1846), &
Sarah (1848)
In 1880, Eastbourne, East Sussex,
she married
Charles Henry Ockenden (1859-1933).
They had 6 children.

Alice (1888-1983)
Alfred (1890-1963) &
Elizabeth (1893-1917)
She died at the age of 65,
in 1916, in East Sussex.
The 1881 UK census shows her,
aged 26 years,
living with her husband & daughter, Ellen,
at Mount Pleasant, Bexhill on sea,
East Sussex.
The 1901 UK census shows her living
in Ninfield, East Sussex,
but born in 1853!
Her birth is recorded in
