EUREKA -- Amos J. Funk, 90, of 610 W. Cruger St., Eureka, formerly of Bloomington and Gridley, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 7, 2004) at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Home.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gridley Apostolic Christian Church, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso, and for one hour before the service Tuesday at the church.

Mr. Funk was born June 27, 1914, at Gridley, a son of Benjamin and Lena Rudin Funk. He married Helen Dietz on Nov. 16, 1941, at Princeville. She died Nov. 22, 1977. He then married Frances Dominick on Aug. 30, 1980, at Zapata, Texas. She died Dec. 6, 1986. He later married Loretta Widmer Kauffman on March 4, 1990, at Zapata. She survives in Eureka.

Other survivors include one stepson, John (Ann) Kauffman, Hudson; one sister, Barbara (Ed) Meiss, Eureka; and one brother, Eugene (Kathryn) Funk, Washington.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry and Julius; three sisters, Lorene Kiefer, Madlyn Nelson and Hulda Meiss; and one stepdaughter, Vyra Stoller.

Amos was a member of the Gridley Apostolic Christian Church, where he had served as an usher, trustee, member of the finance committee, Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent, he and sang in the church choir. He was the founder of Myers Inc., a retail fertilizer plant in Gridley.

Memorials may be directed to the Gridley Apostolic Christian Church or the Bloomington Apostolic Christian Church.
