Cecilia "Cecil" White, 66, of Plainview went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Jim Ritter of Seth Ward Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
Cecilia was born Jan. 28, 1943, in Lubbock to Edwin G. Nichols Sr. and Ruby Johnson Nichols. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1961. She married R. Mack White on Dec. 2, 1961, in Plainview. Cecilia was a member of Lubbock Trail Riders for 25 years and a longtime member of Women's Plainview USBC and WIBC (ISBC). Cecil also was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, R. Mack White of Plainview; one daughter, Cathy Ann Widener of Plainview; one son, Robert Mack White of Matador; two brothers, Ed Nichols and his wife, Bobbie, of Perryton and Mark Nichols and his wife, Margie, of Lockhart; one sister, Sandra Ray and her husband, Larry, of Littlefield; her mother, Ruby Nichols of Plainview; one grandchild, Keeley Obenhaus and her husband, Lance, of Plainview; and one great-grandchild, Landon Keith Obenhaus of Plainview. Cecilia is preceded in death by her father, Edwin G. Nichols Sr.; a son-in-law, Keith Widener; and a niece, Brittnie Welch.
