He was a shoemaker and moved to Boston and lived on Scotto's Lane where his father bought him a house and he carried on the shoe business. He was Assistant Counselor and several times Representative to the General Court. He removed to Harwich where he and his father were among the original proprietors in 1694. He died there in 1706,
