Obituary

EVELINE E. TURNER [1] Died, in this city, on the 4th of June, 1885, Mrs. Eveline E. Turner, wife of Judge Josiah Turner, the present U. S. Consul at Amherstburg, Canada, and daughter of the late Dr. William C. Ellsworth, formerly a prominent physician of Berkshire, Vermont. She was of the Connecticut stock of Ellsworth, among whom, a noble figure, was Oliver Ellsworth, formerly Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, and Minister to France. She was also a second cousin of the lamented Colonel Ellsworth, killed at Alexandria, Virginia, in the early months of the last war. She was the mother of Hon. Jerome IV. Turner of Owosso, Mrs. Judge H. M. Newcombe of Washington, D. C., and Miss Nellie Turner of Owosso. She was also the sister of Hon. C. C. Ellsworth and the late Dr. W. H. Ellsworth, Mrs. Judge Lewis and Mr. George C. Ellsworth, all of Greenville, Mich.[p.97]
