Mr. Bardot was born May 8, 1919, in Luebbering, the son of August Bardot and wife Cecilia, nee Barbaud.
He was united in marriage May 9, 1942, to Mary Katherine Hake. Two children were born of this union.
Mr. Bardot is survived by two sons, Edward Bardot, Luebbering, and Richard Bardot, Lonedell; one daughter, Betty Tharp, Lonedell; two sisters, Rosalie Baur, Maine state, and Sister Mariam Joseph, Springfield, Ill.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; nieces; nephews; great-, great-great-, and great-great-great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Cecilia Bardot; his wife, Mary Bardot; two daughters-in-law, Ruth Bardot and Roberta Bardot; one son-in-law, Ronald Tharp; one brother, Raymond Bardot; and four sisters, Helen Schroeder, Mary McDermott, Alice Powers and Cora Kanngiesser.
Mr. Bardot was of the Catholic faith and a lifelong member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Luebbering.
For over 20 years, he was employed as an assembler for General Motors in St. Louis and was a retiree of the United Auto Workers Local 25, St. Louis.
Mr. Bardot not only worked in the auto industry. He also farmed, raising cattle and crops. He was a hard-working man and built his own home from timber logged from his farm.
Racoon hunting was one of his favorite pastimes and after retirement he also enjoyed fishing. Spending time with his family gave Mr. Bardot great joy and he cherished the time shared.
A funeral Mass was held Wednesday, Oct. 28, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Luebbering.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
