Jane was the daughter of William Foushee (1757) of Culpeper County, Virginia. Data for his widow Mary Ann was taken from a War of 1812 Pension application for Virginia Militia in 1814 where he served under Capt Tomas Hall. Since the date of birth of Jane is not know, her mother could be one of two wives of William Fouchee: Mildred J. Thatcher or Mary Ann Pendleton(1800-1873) married in Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia on 20 July 1831.

John H Foushee (1721-1779, a Revolutionary War veteran) and Alphia Thorton (1728-1779) his wife, first lived in Fauquier County and died in Cedar Run, Culpeper County, Virginia. William Foushee's grandfather, Capt. John Foushee Sr. was the husband of Winifred/"Winnie".
