Glen S. Ovard passed away July 13, 1995 in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 74.
He was born March 24, 1921 in Magna, Utah to Lindsey J. and Orpha Searle Ovard. Married Blanche Huggard June 19, 1947; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, November 1969. Glen was a B-25 pilot and a captain in the Air Force during World War II. He was the first Utah man to be discharged on the point system-having completed 65 bombing missions over Germany and Italy. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross and eight Oak Leaf Clusters. Glen grew up in American Fork and lived in Murray 35 years.
Glen is survived by his wife, Blanche; children, Craig (Kathy); Brent, Steve and David (Laurie) Ovard; three grandsons, four granddaughters; brothers and sisters, Mae Beckstead, Faye Heaps, Wyman Ovard, Beth Wride, Jay Ovard. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joseph.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 17, 1995 at 12 noon, at the Murray 11th Ward, 5750 South Nena Way. Friends may call at the Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road, Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior at the church. Interment, Mtn. View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South.
