Charles A. Eakins, Jr., age 71, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away April 17, 1994 of natural causes.

Born April 3, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Charles A., Sr. and Irene Zimmerman Eakins. Married Violet Garritson December 13, 1946 in Salt Lake.

He was a member of the Murray Baptist Church. Actively involved in Scouting. Loved the outdoors. Proud to serve in the Air Force in World War II as a tail gunner. Especially loved his grandchildren.

Survivors: wife; sons and daughters, Sally (Brent) Christensen, Jim (Nan) Eakins, Pam Heinlein, Charla (Michael) Nieman, John C. Eakins; sister, Mary Lou Morrison; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a sister, Colleen Keil.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 1994, 11 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, where friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services.

Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
