Warrenton Banner Newspaper – August 19, 1927

John Brittain Armstrong, son of Julius Foster and Eleanor Nyce Armstrong, was born in Sussex County, New Jersey, December 23, 1847, and died at his home four miles southwest of Wentzville, St. Charles County, August 9, 1927, having reached the age of 79 years, 7 months and 16 days.

He left his native state and came to Missouri in 1865, and was married to Miss Julia Simms December 23, 1879, by the Rev. J. S. Allen. To this union two children were born, Mary Eleanor and Edward Dayton Armstrong. The daughter died some years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Julia, one son, Edward D. and two sisters, Mrs. J. S. Mcclure and Mrs. W. W. McRoberts.

Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist Church at Wentzville at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, by Rev. E. W. Reynolds of Warrenton and interment in the Linn Cemetery.
