George Harrison Benson, 85, died at his home in Brandonville, March 3, 1944. He was born Oct. 31, 1858, the son of the late James and Sarah Benson. Mr. Benson was united in marriage to Miss Mary Shaffer, May 25, 1887. Eight children were born to this union, six boys and two girls. Misses Edith and Myrtle are deceased. His wife preceded him in death last September. Survivors are six sons, Morton, Benjamin, James and Frank of Clifton Mills, and John of Uniontown; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Centenary Cemetery. Preston County Journal, Kingwood, WV. Thurs., March 30, 1944.
