Brown, Byron Jennings - Byron Brown, 79, died at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday night at the Rosary hospital in Corning where he had been a patient several weeks. Death was attributed to cancer.

Mr Brown was a long-time Lenox businessman and was born in Nebraska Nov. 1, 1896. He was the son of Elias and Mary Miller Brown. He was married to Eva Shelman Sept, 5th, 1920 at Sheridan, Mo.

Survivors include his widow, Eva; and 5 children, Virgil Brown, Veda Miller and Charles Brown all of Lenox, Marcella Briner of Diagonal and Annabelle Jones, Des Moines; two brothers, Clifton of Belton, Mo., and Leland of St. Joseph, Mo., and one sister, Vera Kugelman of California. A host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, 3 grandsons and a brother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the Larkin-Bender Funeral Home in Lenox with Rev. Donald Briley officiating.

Military rites will be held.

Friends are advised of a memorial to the cancer fund.

The family will hold a visitation hour Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in East Fairview cemetery at Lenox.

Brown, Byron Jennings - Final rites were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Dec. 13th from the Larkln-Bender Funeral Home in Lenox for Byron Jennings Brown, who died December 9th at the Rosary hospital in Corning.

Byron Jennings Brown, son of Elias and Mary Miller Brown was born on Nov. 1st, 1896 in Nebraska and departed this life at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 8 days.

On September 5, 1920, he was married to Eva Shelman at Sheridan, Missouri. To this union six children were born. He and his family moved to Lenox, Iowa, Dec. 1, 1923, where he began in business and continued though the years. He is a life member of the American Legion and was an honorary Senior Citizen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lorraine Holmes, three grandsons and a brother, Cecil Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Eva and five children: Virgil and wife Joyce of Lenox; Veda Miller and husband Marvin of Lenox; Charles and wife Pearl of Lenox, Marcela Briner and husband Richard of Diagonal; Annabelle Jones and husband, Robert of Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, Clifton Brown of Belton, Mo., and Leland Brown of Sheridan, Mo., one sister, Vera Kugelman of California, 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
