Michael E. Hackler of Bedford, IN, died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at Bloomington Hospital. Born on June 14, 1957, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of John L. and Rowena Jean (McPike) Hackler.

Surviving are two sister, Jana Endicott of Houston, TX, and Mary Jo Brooking of Bedford, IN; one brother, John Hackler of Oolitic, IN; one step-brother, Dana Jones; his step-mother, Betty Hackler; two step-sisters, Donna Jones and Deanna Jones; three nieces, and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

He was an electric elevator technician ad was the apprenticeship instructor for elevator technicians at Indiana University in Bloomington. He graduated with honors from ITT Technical Institute in Indianapolis and was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Bedford.

Services for Michael Hackler will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 14th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Revs. Robert Lutz and Dana Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Dive Cemetery.
