Juanita "Jo" Mentzer Baldwin, 85, Middletown, Connecticut, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, in Middletown, Connecticut.

She was born May 20, 1923, in Yates Center, Kansas, to Ernest and Edith (Dumond) Mentzer.

She graduated from Yates Center High School in 1978. She was 1949 graduate of Welsley Nursing School in Wichita and was a practicing nurse for 45 years.

Survivors include four daughters, E. Ann Baldwin, Higganum, CT, Edith Amelia Baldwin, Haddam, CT, Beth Baldwin, Middletown, CT, and Charlene F. Baldwin, Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren; four brothers, Tye Mentzer, Iowa, Keith Mentzer, Nevada, Norryce Mentzer, Washington, and Burdette Mentzer, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Austin, Donald, and Lovell Mentzer.

Graveside service will be at Yates Center Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center, Kansas.

Contributions to First Congregational Church of Haddam, Middlesex Health Care Center, Resident Fund, or Woodson County Foundation Fund, may be made in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 188, Yates Center, KS 66783.
