Alice Jewell Ellett Tribble, 92, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, in Fanning Springs, Florida. Ms. Tribble was a retired bookkeeper and homemaker. Born in Charleston, Mississippi, she lived in the Gainesville area for the past 25 years, moving from Savannah, Georgia. Jewell was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Tower Road Baptist Church in Gainesville, the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and a lifelong southern Democrat. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. E. Tribble. Survivors include two sons, Everett Tribble of Chiefland and Dennis Tribble of Tallahassee; four grandchildren, Ashley, Kimberly, Michael and Steven; and one great grandson, Everett Shepherd Tribble. Service and burial will be at 2:00 p.m. today at the Chapel in the Meadows, Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central, 4100 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. today at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made for continuing nursing education in honor of Ms. Tribble to North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville. Arrangements are in the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home, Cemeteries, and Crematory.
