Pansy Inez Miller McInturff, age 90, passed away at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit, on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Pansy was a native of Erwin, from the Rock Creek Community, but most of her life lived in the Dry Creek Community. She was the daughter of James William "Matt" Miller and Lora Dean Miller. In addition to being a homemaker, Pansy ran an antique shop and she loved flea markets and yard sales. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge 276 for 68 years. She also attended Ninth Street Baptist Church and Unicoi Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Pansy was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Willard James McInturff; two sons, Billy J. McInturff and Ted E. McInturff; three daughters, Thelma McInturff, Jannis E. McInturff and Peggy J. McInturff; six brothers, Martin L., Ray, Conway C., Ernest H. and Gene L. and an infant brother; four sisters, Dolly E., Ruby J., Rose L., and J. Pauline; three grandchildren, Ronald Arrowood, Gary Johnson and Debbie Johnson.

The remaining family members surviving Pansy are:

Daughters, Jackie McGee and husband John of Erwin, Ann Dowden and husband Bob of Kokomo, IN and Connie Johnson of Kokomo, IN;

Brother, Dallas "Bud" Miller

Grandchildren, Randy Arrowood of Erwin, Ricky Arrowood and wife Sherry of Erwin, Tammy Hensley and husband Mike of Erwin, Tim McInturff and wife Deanna of Elizabethton, Renee Lingerfelt and husband Anthony of Unicoi, Teresa Vandergriff and husband Steve of Kokomo, IN, Keith Barnett and wife Gina of Kokomo, IN, Michelle Huskins and husband Rick of Unicoi, Nikki Neal and husband Matt of Kokomo, IN, Shellie Lloyd and husband Jeff of Greentown, IN, Greg Johnson and wife Shawna of Kokomo, IN and Penny Johnson of Royal Palm Beach, FL; twenty four great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Pansy will be Friday, April 10, 2009 at eleven o'clock a.m. in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. The Reverend Lee Hyatt will officiate and music will be provided by Louella Shelton and the Shelton Family Singers. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 9, 2009 from five o'clock until eight o'clock in the Chapel. The interment will be immediately following the funeral service on Friday morning in the Jones Cemetery. Everyone will be going in procession from the funeral home to the cemetery.
