Hazel L. Jarchow, 85, of Shell Rock, died Saturday evening, August 2, 1986, at the
Shell Rock Care Center where she had been a resident since February 4, 1984.
Hazel L. Foot was born on September 21, 1900, near Hawkeye, Iowa, the daughter of
Henry and Clara Henderson Foot. She attended country school and high school at Alpha,
Iowa. On September 16, 1922, she was untited in marriage to Walter H. Jarchow in Hawkeye, Iowa. The couple farmed until moving to Shell Rock in 1947.
She is survived by two sons, Merel of Shell Rock, and Richard of Caldwell, Idaho,
two daughters, Geraldine, Mrs. Dale Roberts of Fayette, Iowa, and Jeanette, Mrs. Edwin
Vossberg of Janesville, Iowa, two sisters, Mrs. Clara McDonald of Missouri, and Mrs.
Melva Bevins of California, eight grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter on September 9, 1979, one son, Harrison, four brothers, three sisters, and one great granddaughter.
Follwing the graveside service, relatives and friends are invited to the Faith Lutheran
Church in Shell Rock, for fellowship with the Jarchow family.
