ASHBY (SPECIAL)
Andrew Stevens, well known resident here died Tuesday evening, May 14 at St. Luke's hospital in Fergus Fails. He suffered a stroke last Friday and was taken to the hospital Saturday, but efforts to restore him to health were unavailing.

Mr. Stevens was born in Lofsness, Norway, May 15, 1873, and would have celebrated his 73rd birthday had he lived until today. He came to the United States when a young man of 16 years. For the past 42 years he has operated a farm southwest of Ashby. Recently Mr. and Mrs. Stevens sold their farm and moved into this village only last Wednesday to reside. He with his wife were looking forward to a little easier time of it and his sudden death comes as a great shock to his devoted help meet, who is his only immediate survivor there being no children in the family.

He was a faithful member of the Pelican Lake church.
