Great Falls Tribune (MT) - September 22, 2000

HAVRE - Lorraine M. Laursen, 72, who owned and operated several cafes with her husband, died of natural causes Wednesday at a Big Sandy nursing home.

Graveside services and burial of ashes will take place at Highland Cemetery in Havre at a later date. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre is in charge of cremation and arrangements.

Lorraine was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Rudyard, and attended schools there.

She married Robert L. Laursen on June 8, 1968, in Havre, where they continued to live after their marriage. They leased the Buttrey's Coffee Shop and Shanty Cafe, and later owned and operated the Tip-It Bar. She was also a cook at the Eagles Manor for more than eight years.

She enjoyed western music and dancing.

Survivors include her husband of Havre three daughters, Diana Adams of Sidney, Deana Haymaker of Biloxi, Miss., and Cindy Cross of Big Sandy five sons, Andy Laursen of Shelby, Randy Laursen of Bremerton, Wash., Tracy Laursen, Rodney Laursen and Russell Laursen, all of Havre a brother, Lloyd Haymaker of Havre sisters, Edna Jones of Squamish, Wash., Betty Layton of Kalispell, Virginia Wilmes of Casper, Wyo., Beryl Tomason of California and Penny Taylor of Corbin, Ky. nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
