Anthony Schneider, 57, of 523 Fremont St., Kiel, died early Friday evening at St. Nicholas Hospital following a brief illness. He had been brought to the hospital Friday morning. Born in Chester, Pa., Aug. 16, 1898, he was a son of the late Jacob and Katherine Schneider. When a boy of six he went with his mother to live in Franzburg, Germany. He married the former Miss Elizabeth Schmidt there, Sept. 21, 1924, and the couple continued to live in Germany until coming to the United States in 1930. They lived in New York for a time, later in St. Nazianz, and for the past five years in Kiel where Mr. Schneider was employed in the plant of the A.A. Laun Furniture Co. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish, Kiel. Surviving are two sons (names omitted for privacy); one sister, Mrs. Mary Reddy, New York City; and a brother, Andreas, Chester, Pa. Another son died in Germany in 1953. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, and at 10 o'clock at Ss. Peter and Paul Church.
The Rev. F.X. Kheil, pastor, will be celebrant of the requiem mass, with burial in the parish cemetery.
