Passed away Monday morning, November 3, 2008 at his residence following a six week illness. He was born August 17, 1945 in Dowagiac, MI. On May 8, 1970 in Marcellus he married Carol M. Murray who survives. He had been a resident of Marcellus most of his life and graduated from Marcellus High School in 1964. He graduated from Western Michigan University with both his Bachelor and Master's Degrees in business.

He was a Commanding Officer at the Three Rivers Unit of the Michigan National Guard. He formerly was Vice-President of Marketing with Lyons Industries, Inc. in Dowagiac. He was an active member of the Marcellus United Methodist Church and was a Lay Speaker. He previously served on the Marcellus School Board, Township Library Board and the Boy Scout Committee. He enjoyed reading, history, world traveling and vacationing with his family in the Upper Peninsula.

Surviving besides his wife Carol, are one son, Gregory (Sara) Huff of Scotts, MI; one granddaughter; Avila; one half-sister, Margaret (Butch) Hook of West Olive, MI; one half-brother, Sam (Judy) Castleman of Karnak, IL and a wonderful extended family.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2008 in the Marcellus United Methodist Church with Rev. John D. Messner officiating. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 PM. Friday in the Mater Funeral Home, Marcellus.
