Services for Juanita Brewer, 86, of Overbrook, Okla. will be Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel, Marietta, with Alvin Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, Madill, Okla., under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services.


Mrs. Brewer was born January 29, 1923, in Ralls, Texas, the daughter of John Straud and Tressie Hazlewood Jordan. She passed away Friday, April 10, 2009, in Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta.


Mrs. Brewer had been a resident of Love County most of her life. She and Almer C. Brewer were married January 1, 1955, in Ardmore, Okla., and he preceded her in death on August 4, 2004. Mrs. Brewer attended school in Robinson, Texas and worked as a welder in the shipyards during World War II. She was also an excellent seamstress. Her hobbies included hunting, fishing and quilting. Baptized on February 13, 2008, Mrs. Brewer was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Marietta. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Donald Ray Rice; and three sisters, Audrey Brummett, Ila Mae Kendall and Marie Love.


Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Ray and Marilyn Rice of Overbrook; two brothers and sisters-in-law, J.W. and Joyce Jordan of Sulphur, Okla. and Bob and Wilma Jordan of Norman, Okla.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


Serving as bearers will be Michael Rice, Chris Vickers, Steve Brummett, Bobby Jordan, Jr. and Scott Kendall. Dr. Tom O'Connor is an honorary bearer.


Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church – Marietta, c/o Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 East Main St., Marietta, OK 73448.


The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday at Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
