Mrs. Nancy Jane Spooner, widow of Benjamin Spooner, 77, died at 11:30 yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Theresa McVey, 714 Oak St. She was active of Ellisville, Miss and a Harrison County Resident 70 years. The funeral was held this afternoon from the Oak St home with the services under the auspices of the Baptist Church by Rev. Moore and interment in Conn Cemetery Long Beach. She is survived by three sons Ed Simmons, Gulfport; Frank Williams, Gulfport; and Willie Spooner, Biloxi; and four daughters, Mrs. Theresa McVey, Biloxi; Mrs. Philamene Guilhatt, Deer Island; Mrs. W. B. Harris, New Orleans; and Mrs. W.B. Woolf, Gulfport; a brother Rev. Wm Creel, Biloxi; 26 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
[note] Daughter of John Creel and Hannah Rainwater, born 1860 Ellisville, Jones County, Miss, moved to Harrison County circa 1866, she married Elijah Loposser, John Simmons, Mr. Williams and Ben Spooner.
