OBITUARY: The Manti Messenger, Friday 24 February 1911:
SAD ENDING FOR A YOUNG MOTHER
After suffering hours of unspeakable agony and torture in an effort to bring another life into this world, Mrs. Laverne Nielson gave up her own life Sunday afternoon - but a few minutes after the spark of a new life had flickered and disappeared into the great beyond. A young wife only 25 years of age leaving one little boy and a loving husband to mourn her loss; to lay her away in the silent city in the shadow of the Temple and return to a broken home, now but a mockery of what that home was a few days ago, is a transformation that elicits the deepest sympathy.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Anderson of this city and six years ago last December married Soren Nielson Jr.
The funeral was held at the Tabernacle Wednesday afternoon.
Friends and relatives were in attendance from Ephraim, Gunnison, Wales and Provo. Speakers were Geo. E. Bench, David Shand, Jens Mickelson and Bishops Peterson and Kjar. Many beautiful floral offerings were received and special music rendered.

(The child was a daughter who didn't live. She was named Laverne.)

Daughter of Anders Christian Andersen & Emily Pickering. Wife of Soren Nielsen.
