Alfred Van Etta
Fort Plain, Feb. 3.—Alfred Van Etta died this morning at the home of his daughter Mrs Clifford Pickard after a two weeks illness of complications.
Mr. Van Etta was born in the town of Canajoharie May 10, 1867, son of the late Lewis and Mary Wiles Van Etta but spent nearly all his life in this village. For a number of years deceased was employed on the lock of the barge canal here.
Surviving are his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Clifford Pickard, above mentioned and Mrs. Van Buren, St. Johnsville and one sister, Mrs. Charles Scott of Schenectady.
The funeral will be held from the home Monday at 1 o'clock and at 2:20 at Catherine Nellis Memorial Chapel. Rev. Rufus H. Dix from the Universalist Church will officiate. Burial in the local cemetery.
