Houston Fire Department
March 2009 - April 2009
Assigned to Station 26 on March 7, 2009
One Month 15 Days Service

Line of Duty Death

At a one alarm house fire just after midnight
firefighters were fighting the fire. The homeowners had made it out safely. The fire intensified and a call was made for the firefighters to clear the house. Firefighter Hobbs and Captain James Harlow did not make it out.

He was given a "Rookie" t-shirt the day he came to the fire station. He was unusually proud to wear this shirt. He took it as a seal of approval from his fellow firefighters at station 26. Cleaning, reading, and learning, he dedicated his life to public service. He was always eager to help.

During his memorial service his family was awarded his posthumous awards; the Medal of Honor from the Houston Fire Department and the Medal of Honor from the International Association of Fire Fighters.

Son of Jon Hobbs and Joyce Webb. Brother of Janice Deshazer, Tammy Hobbs and Shiela Hobbs. Brother in law of Janice's husband Tim. Step-brother of Danielle Moon and Levi Webb. Grandson of Ruth Johnson. Damion leaves behind the love of his life Crystal Marin. Graduate of Alvin High School, 1998.
