Burl G. Blackwell of Bedford, IN, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at the White River Lodge. Born on April 19, 1904, in Lawrence County, IN, he was the son of Vollie and Deliah (Mitchell) Blackwell. He married Inez Anderson and she died in July 1988.
Surviving are two sons, Leonard Blackwell of Bedford, IN, and Robert Blackwell of Woodville, AL; caregiver, Thelma McPike of Bedford; one brother, Birtle Blackwell of Bedford, IN; one half-brother, Dale Deckard of Bedford, IN; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Earl Blackwell; one sister, Bertha Bartlett; two half0sisters, Oma Bartlett and Lorene Lewis.
He was a retired cream station operator and janitor for the Bedford Armory. He was a member of the Judah Church of Christ.
